Emergency Contacts

If you are experiencing a crisis,

contact one or more of the following:

The Salt Lake City VA Medical Center Emergency Room

500 Foothill Drive
Salt Lake City, Utah 84148
Telephone:
(801) 582-1565

If your situation is such that you feel you might be a danger either to yourself or others, call the emergency room immediately. The ER is staffed with good people who have chosen to work at the ER so they can help veterans in trouble. If you are a vet, or a veterans family member, chances are that the ER is a benefit that you earned. It's not welfare. Calling ER doesn't mean you are crazy or defective. Use it.

The counselor will provide referrals to other resources within the community which could be beneficial to you. Between you and the counselor, it will be determined if the food pantry is the appropriate resource to help meet your basic needs.

Terry Schow:

Director, Utah State Department of Veterans Affairs..... Terry is a great guy doing an impossible job for the Governor of Utah. He has a wealth of info at his fingertips regarding benefits and state programs benefitting veterans. His web-site is deep and rich with content. Spend some time and dig in. The web site is http://www.ut.ngb.army.mil/veterans/ Terry is a busy, committed. level headed veterans' advisor. He's pretty far up the food chain. You might want to hold off calling Terry until you've tried a bunch of other leads. But when you need a friend with muscle and grease. . . call Terry. He's cool.

Reach Terry at the VA Regional Office in SLC.
