The Eagle’s Nest is an intensive 32 to 35 day (or more) Residential treatment program designed to address substance abuse issues; assist veterans in developing and improving coping skills, including effects of trauma; and to teach relapse prevention and other life skills.
Professional staff include a psychiatrist, psychologist, clinical social workers, licensed substance abuse
counselors, and support staff.

Eligibility Information:
Veterans who are interested in rebuilding their lives due to substance abuse disorders must enroll for treatment and meet the requirements for services (some of this can be done over the telephone). Once the veteran is declared eligible, a treatment counselor will complete a prescreening assessment to determine basic treatment needs.
Priority consideration for admission to Eagle’s Nest is given to veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq, then to fifty percent or more Service Connected Disabled veterans, then Service Connected veterans at less than fifty percent, then to veterans who live in geographically isolated areas and who have not received VA health care services during the past three or more years.
Veterans must be ambulatory, medically stable, capable of self-preservation in case of a disaster, capable of self-medication, and mentally able to understand treatment material.
